TRIBUTE TO KAYA BOUSQUET

Kaya, aged 23, was the proud winner of the prestigious "culture & charity queen" title of "Miss Commonwealth St. Lucia 2008". She was looking forward to competing against other national "culture & charity queens", at the CICCETSS 2008, for the title of "Miss Commonwealth International 2008".

Kaya had planned a programme of community events to raise money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity. She was a dedicated and keen participant in the Miss Commonwealth Charity International Contest 2008 set up to promote contestants' participation in fundraising for GOSH.

An accomplished and multi-talented young woman of many attributes, Kaya launched a career in beauty and entertainment, as a Model and Presenter, after attending university.

Born in London in 1984, and the youngest of 4 children, Kaya excelled in education, and had many interests, including travelling, which took her to many places, including York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Egypt, St. Lucia and several European countries.

She enjoyed participating in many sports, including basketball, football, tennis and boxing, and also enjoyed reading and writing and wrote articles for various top magazines.

Kaya's broad repertoire of interests and activities included her passion for charitable work. A member of the St. Vincent de Paul group, she gave up much of her time to help the less unfortunate, and helped to raise funds for several charities, including the Marie Curie Charity.

Kaya won many awards, including "Miss Soft & Beautiful UK 2002-2004" and "Miss Reggea Gold Finalist 2004", etc.

A very popular and much loved young lady, generally referred to as "Queen of Clubs", Kaya enjoyed life to the fullest. She was described by her family as "a beautiful angel, full of innocence and inner beauty, loyal, obedient, loving, intelligent, business-minded, and a person who was dedicated to doing her best and sought to achieve the highest outcome from anything she devoted her time to..."

Kaya returned to her Maker on 27th February 2008, following a fatal accident caused when a car she was travelling in was hit by a lorry.

As she rests in peace, she will always be remembered by the above and other aspects of her charming history, as well as Miss Commonwealth St. Lucia 2008, her preserved title.

Kaya's family will, on her behalf, receive the formal presentation of the title certificate at the CICCETSS 2008.
